Guidelines on the Eradication of Piracy in University Textbooks
We ask for all your cooperation in preventing copyright infringement, such as the production and distribution of pirated copies within Yonsei University. Members of the Yonsei community should actively cooperate to avoid cases of copyright act violations, such as illegal copying of university textbooks and publications through copy places on- and off-campus or self-scanning shops.
[Copyright Act Violation Cases]
1. Copying books (copying, scanning, sharing PDF files, etc.) without the permission of the copyright holder
- Under Article 136 (Penal Provisions) of the Copyright Act, imprisonment for a maximum of five years or a fine of a maximum of 50 million won
2. Sharing illegal copies (scanned copies, PDF files) and copying publications such as textbooks within the department and distributing them to students in batches
3. Copying books for profit without the permission of the copyright holder
4. Sharing e-book files (PDF scanned files)
