사랑하는 연세 가족 여러분,
긴 폭우가 지나간 데 대하여 안도할 시간도 없이 코로나-19 감염병이 수도권을 중심으로 급속히 확산되어, 며칠간 1일 확진자 수가 2백여 명을 넘고 있고 정부는 사회적 거리두기를 2단계로 격상하였습니다.
우리대학교는 새로운 발전과 강의혁신을 위한 의욕에 차 있지만, 부득이 2학기 중간고사기간까지는 모든 수업을 전면 온라인수업으로 전환하기로 결정하였습니다. 중간시험 또한 비대면 평가로 진행하며, 2학기 모든 과목에 절대평가를 허용합니다. 중간고사 이후 수업계획은 코로나-19 감염병의 상황을 고려하여 10월 12일(월)에 공지할 예정입니다.
개강을 10여 일 앞두고 코로나-19 감염병의 급작스러운 확산으로 인해 전면 온라인수업으로 전환할 수밖에 없음에 안타까움을 금할 수 없지만, 전 세계적인 감염병 확산의 위기를 슬기롭게 이겨내기 위하여 모두의 지속적인 관심과 참여가 필요하므로 너그러운 양해를 요청드립니다.
코로나-19 감염병이 하루속히 진정되어, 2학기 강의 일부라도 학생과 교수님이 캠퍼스에서 만나 대면수업으로 진행할 수 있기를 간절히 바랍니다. 연세 가족 여러분, 캠퍼스에서 만나뵙는 날까지 건강하시고, 하나님의 가호가 늘 연세인 여러분과 함께 하시기를 기원합니다.

Dear Yonsei Family Members,
The Corona-19 Infectious Disease (COVID-19) is spreading rapidly around the metropolitan area and the number of confirmed cases per day surpassed 200 people for several days, with no time to be relieved after a long heavy rain. The government's Social Distancing level was also raised to the 2nd level accordingly.
Although Yonsei University is highly motivated for the development and innovation of the 2nd semester classes, our university is obliged to conduct all of fall semester classes to online classes until the midterm exam period. The midterm exam would also be carried online/non-face-to-face, and absolute grading would be allowed to all the 2nd semester classes. We will announce plans for post midterm exams on Monday, October 12, so that Yonsei people can adjust their schedule for the second semester, including whether to resume small size lectures and experiment and lab classes.
It is quite disappointing to announce online class policy due to the sudden and wide spread of the COVID-19 in local clusters with less than 10 days left until the start of the 2nd semester. I would like to ask for your generous understaning since Yonseian’s continuous interest and participation are vital to wisely overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is my sincere wish the COVID-19 pandemic to be eased as soon as possible so that Yonsei students and professors could meet on campus and even part of the 2nd semester classes could be conducted face-to-face.
Respected Yonsei families, I hope that you will be healthy until the day we meet on campus.
