An admissions committee reviews applications and comprehensively evaluates each prospective student. While admission to UIC is competitive, UIC looks beyond the numbers and seeks applicants with global mindsets, strong academic aspirations, and a spirit of dedication to community.

Graduate schools
Yonsei University Graduate School was founded in 1950 under the leadership of Dr. Yun Kyung Kim, the first dean of Graduate School. The mission statement defines the educational goal and direction of the Graduate School Based on Christian spirit, Yonsei University Graduate School aims to cultivate the future leaders of Korea in order to make them serve the wider world community. Graduate schools of Intl. Studies
The Yonsei GSIS is Korea's leading professional graduate school of international studies. The dynamic and rigorous curriculum equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel globally, in the private and public sectors.
Office of International Affairs
OIA is in charge of Yonsei University’s main non-degree programs for international students. Students can choose from a variety of programs according to their personal and academic interests. Study Abroad at Yonsei (SAY) is the regular fall/spring semester for exchange and visiting students. Students can also experience Yonsei during the summer or winter by attending the Yonsei International Summer School or Winter Abroad at Yonsei (WAY) programs. OIA also arranges tailor-made programs for overseas partner universities. Through OIA’s programs, students will challenge themselves intellectually and broaden their cultural perspectives.
Yonsei Intl. Summer School
The Yonsei International Summer School (YISS) opened its doors in 1985 and since then, YISS has become an integral part of campus life based on a unique blend of Korean and global cultures.
YISS is offering about 100 courses in 7 different areas for 6 weeks in summer and continues to grow and evolve, accommodating the needs of a rapidly changing student body and meeting the challenges of a fastpaced global society.For more information, please visit our website(http://summer.yonsei.ac.kr).
Yonsei Intl. Winter School
WAY is open to all students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as well as high school seniors who have been accepted to an accredited university. (We have a minimum GPA requirement for college or university students, which is above 2.5/4.0.)
Applicants must submit an on-line application along with an official transcript from their home university.
Korean Language Institute
The Korean Language Institute is designed to give students the chance to learn the Korean language and culture while enhancing their understanding about Korea.
Yonsei University has been working towards this goal since its foundation in 1959 and has become one of the most important and useful institutes in the field.
All of the teachers at the Korean Language Institute hold a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Korean and possess a range of knowledge about Korean culture and teaching foreign students. Due to their background, each of the teachers is especially equipped to help students learn in an efficient and engaging environment.
Each term lasts for 10 weeks, and students attend classes for 4 hours, 5 days a week.
The Regular Program includes levels 1 through 6, all of which can be completed in a year and a half.

East Asia International College
The EIC offers many courses that are systematically coordinated for focused studies of the East Asian region, which extends beyond China, Japan and Korea to neighboring areas such as Far Eastern Russia and South East Asia.
