2. Eligibility: Students on the Sinchon (International) Campus and Mirae Campus who are enrolled students and students at leave of absence(including leave of absence for military service)

1) Those who are scheduled to graduate in February 2024 can also take seasonal classes, and the credits will be reflected in the graduation situation. However, note that graduation candidates cannot take some subjects, such as community service.

2) Students on leave cannot graduate even if they meet graduation credits in seasonal classes, and they must return for a regular semester to graduate. In other words, students taking the Fall 2023 semester off cannot graduate in February 2024 even if they meet graduation credits in the 2023 winter seasonal classes.

3) Students serving in the military cannot take face-to-face lectures. However, if the discharge date is before the start of the seasonal semester, the student can apply for and take the seasonal classes. In addition, if the student's unreturned discharge date is in the seasonal semester, the Ministry of National Defense may order the student to return to force, and the disadvantage is the student's responsibility.

3. Course Enrollment Method

1) Course enrollment for Sinchon (International) Campus: Access the Academic Portal System (http://portal.yonsei.ac.kr) and select "Undergraduate Course Enrollment"

2) There are quotas for seasonal classes.

3) Seasonal classes can also be taken at domestic credit exchange universities. For more information, see the notices on the Korean website for each exchange university.

4. Subjects Offered

1) You can check the course catalog after November 1 (Wed) on the academic portal system. Changes of subjects will be reflected in the course catalog.

※ How to check the course catalog: Academic Portal System > Undergraduate/Graduate Course Catalog

- Select undergraduate, seasonal semester, and winter semester from the "Opening Major"

- Select 2023, winter semester from "Semester" and click search

2) Classes with less than 20 students are subject to closure. As a result of the course enrollment, the first and second closing classes will be confirmed, which will be noticed on the university website. There may be additional closure as a result of tuition payment also.

5. Tuition

1) (Tuition per credit × number of credits) + experiment and practice fees

- Tuition per credit: 110,000 won

- Experiment and practice fees: 20,000 won for physics, chemistry, and biology / 10,000 won for mathematics, statistics and computing subjects

2) Separate tuition (30,000 won) is applied to the field training courses.

6. Credit Application and Accreditation

1) Course credit: Up to 7 credits, and up to 6 for online lectures. However, those students who took military courses during the previous regular semester can take up to 7 credits including military courses.

2) Credit accreditation and rating conversion: Subjects and grades completed in a seasonal semester are also reflected in the graduation credits and average. However, for those who entered before the 2003 school year, acquisition credits are recognized only and not included in the average.

7. Canceling Courses

1) If you are unable to study after registration for seasonal classes, you may request cancellation of the class by January 4, 2024 (Thu), 23:59, which is before 1/2 of the total number of class days.

2) Course cancellation procedure

- You may cancel the course at the Academic Portal. Submit a refund request only if it is impossible to cancel the course at the portal. Students at the Colleges of Medicine/Dentistry/Nursing are requested to submit a refund request.

- Please make sure that your bank account registered on the academic portal is correct.

- However, domestic university credit exchange students must submit a cancellation request to the Academic Support Team by 15:00 on the cancellation date.

(Yonsei→other university, other university→Yonsei): yonseiex@yonsei.ac.kr

3) Tuition refund amount

- Cancel by the day before the start of the classes (Dec 25 (Mon), 23:59): Full refund of the tuition fee

- Cancel before 1/3 of the semester (Jan 2, 2024(Tue), 23:59): 2/3 of the tuition fee

- Cancel before 1/2 of the semester (Jan 4 (Thu), 23:59): 1/2 of the tuition fee

- Cancellation is absolutely impossible after Jan 4, 2024 (Thu), 23:59.

4) There is no withdrawal for seasonal classes.

8. Notes

1) If a student belonging to the University College takes a seasonal class, it is recognized as a completed course, and the acquired grades are also included in the average when approving the major. However, in the case of re-taking a course, only the previous grades before re-taking will be applied for the major approval.

2) Re-taking: since it is only possible to re-take the subjects that the student's final grades are recorded, so re-taking the courses that had been taken in the previous semester is not possible.

3) If the tuition is not paid during the registration period, the entire course registration details will be automatically deleted.

4) The student who has applied for 2 subjects cannot pay only the amount for the 1 subject for the purpose of canceling another subject. You should first pay the tuition for all the enrolled courses, then cancel a subject. Refer to the 7. Canceling Courses above for how to cancel the course.

5) Seasonal classes can only be taken on only one campus among the Sinchon (International) Campus, Mirae Campus, or a credit exchange university. All duplicated applications will be invalidated.

6) For the students who want to take courses at the Winter Abroad at Yonsei, contact the International Affairs Team (02-2123-3535) for inquiries.
