Guidance on Application for Intra-campus Double Major for Fall Semester 2021
1. Eligibility of Application
1) Students entering class of '00 and onwards whose 1st majors are declared (including students on leaves)
from their third semester to the semester before graduation.
(graduation candidates or completion applicants are not applicable for the review)2) Students affiliated with the School of Integrated Technology cannot apply for intra-campus double major.
3) To cancel an approved double major and reapply, students need to submit the application form for
cancellation of double major to the Academic Support Team (B101, Underwood Hall)
before the application period is over. They cannot apply for a cancelled double major again.2. Departments Available for Application
1) Can be found on the attached status sheet (Korean)
2) Cannot apply for the Department of Architecture (5 years), School of Integrated Technology,
Department of System Semiconductor Engineering, College of Music (all departments),
College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Nursing, and College of Pharmacy3) Application for double major in the Underwood International College and Global Leaders College
is only allowed for students enrolled in the relevant college3. Criteria for Approval
1) In principle, a smaller number between 50% of the number of applicants
and 30% of the number of enrolled students in the department shall be selected.2) Evaluation based on the average GPA up to the application semester
(average grade of the total semesters) and the academic plan3) If general transfer students in the junior year applies in their first semester
(while attending the fifth semester), they are evaluated based on the grade of their first semester4. Application Schedule and Method
1) Application Period: June 21, 2021 (Mon) 9:00 - June 25, 2021 (Fri) 17:00
2) Application Method: Access Yonsei Portal Service (http://portal.yonsei.ac.kr) and Log-in
Choose the double major under 'Academic Information System
→Academic Management System→Majors
→Application' and Submit an Academic Plan
(motive for application and an academic plan)※ Write 500-2,000 bytes for each section
※ If you cancel your application during the application period,
the contents of the academic plan will be deleted※ Confirm the name of the major (department) before final submission
3) Result Announcement: Scheduled on July 30, 2021 (Fri)
※ Find the status on 'Academic Information System→Academic Management System→Majors
→Second Major→Approval'5. Notes
1) Students whose applications for double majors are approved can only graduate upon fulfilling
the requirements of graduation for the double majors (The number of credits required for graduation
varies depending on each major and each entering class; therefore contact the office of respective
departments with any inquiries on the graduation requirement)2) Students whose applications for double majors are approved can apply for a third major upon
application for graduation/completion. However, if requirements for graduation by a double major
are not fulfilled, application for a third major is cancelled automatically and cannot apply for
graduation/completion.3) Even if students double major in the Department of Education or the Department of
Physical Education, they cannot obtain a teaching certificate. Yet, those who meet the
teaching qualification in their first majors can obtain a teaching certificate after a separate

head of the double major and the Head of the University on a relevant form, and submit it to
