Yonsei University and LG CNS, a company specializing in DX, will establish a job-linked 'Department of Intelligent Data and Optimization' as a master’s program to nurture DX specialists.

On April 18, Yonsei University signed an agreement with LG CNS at Underwood Hall for the establishment of the ‘Department of Intelligent Data and Optimization'. Key officials, including President Yoon Dong-Sup and LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-Gyoon, attended the signing ceremony.

The newly established 'Department of Intelligent Data and Optimization' will commence in the second semester of 2024, aiming to cultivate specialists who can utilize the latest DX technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, and optimization algorithms.

The recruitment for the following master’s program ends on April 26, with expected graduates and graduate students eligible to apply. Master's students in the course would receive full tuition and a small amount of research expenses and are guaranteed employment at LG CNS after completion of the program.

The lecture will be run based on a curriculum led by Yonsei University's industrial engineering department faculty, combining LG CNS' cutting-edge technology and industrial field experience. In particular, Yonsei University plans to focus on data analysis, artificial intelligence, and optimization technology to cultivate specialists capable of working in the field immediately after graduation.

Through the program, students are expected to acquire academic knowledge, practical experience, advanced technical skills, and problem-solving capabilities required in industrial fields.

“Through the establishment of the Department of Intelligent Data and Optimization, we expect to lead innovations across South Korea’s industries while fostering competitive specialists,” said Yonsei President Yoon Dong-Sup.

“We will focus on nurturing DX specialists who can innovate business for corporate clients on the DX site," added LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-Gyoon.

Meanwhile, Yonsei University's Department of Industrial Engineering was ranked in the Top 100 in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject and was recognized globally for its education and research capabilities.

The Department of Industrial Engineering provides core technical education required in modern industries, such as ▲data-based decision-making ▲operation optimization technology ▲technology management, and it strives to nurture future industrial leaders through the integration of theory and practice.
