Remarkable Achievement with 50% of Participating Companies Winning CES Innovation Awards

Yonsei University successfully exhibited products featuring our innovative technologies at the world's largest electronics trade show, CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2024, held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 9th (Tuesday) to 12th (Friday).
Our university participated in Eureka Park, where global innovative startup companies showcase their technological competitiveness. Through business agreements with the Seoul Business Agency, eight universities in Seoul, and local institutions, we established the 'Seoul Integrated Pavilion.' We set up 10 booths for faculty-led startup companies and our university's promotional booth, 'Yonsei Co-Growth Pavilion.'
At this exhibition, under the theme 'Supporting Co-Growth with Companies,' our university presented exhibitions under three main concepts closely aligned with CES 2024's focus areas: 'Bio,' 'Artificial Intelligence (AI),' and 'Better the Future.'
In the Bio sector, Asen Inc. showcased wearable biosensors and devices, while The M.E.N.D. BioSimulator operated a booth where visitors could experience 'CARDIOS,' a solution that automatically predicts the risk of cardiovascular diseases using high-precision 3D vascular models and AI-based algorithms.
Additionally, LYNK Solutec, a medical device manufacturing company utilizing nano-technology, exhibited a special coating technology that can address issues such as blood clotting and lens fogging in endoscopes. They achieved the honor of winning two innovation awards for enhancing surgical safety and increasing the accuracy of patient treatment.
In the Artificial Intelligence (AI) sector, Onoma AI presented 'TooToon,' a webtoon assistance service based on generative AI, and received recognition as an innovator in the AI field. H-Cube Solution Inc., the developer of 'H-Twin,' and Phantomics Inc., which showcased technology for early and accurate tissue testing for heart diseases through cardiac MRI image analysis, were both awarded innovation prizes in the digital healthcare sector.

In the 'Better the Future' category, focusing on innovations that contribute to improving our lives, BarunBio Co., Ltd., a life care solution company specializing in anti-aging, received significant attention for their wearable technology innovation award in the micro-electric energy category. They produced athleisure clothing utilizing micro-electric energy technology.
Additionally, Ubatt Co., Ltd., a battery specialist company, introduced high-energy-density lithium metal batteries in the field of aviation mobility. Korea Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Technology Co., Ltd., presented a vision for a sustainable future by showcasing a 240kW rapid charger, a 14kW slow charger, and an integrated charging solution for electric vehicles. PlcoSkin Co., Ltd., unveiled 'TissueDerm,' a medical device for connective tissue reconstruction, and was selected for an innovation award in the Accessibility & Aging Tech sector.
Our university's participation in this year's CES marks the first exhibition led by a university. With the largest number of participating companies within the Seoul Integrated Pavilion, half of the participating companies received CES innovation awards, showcasing our global technological competitiveness.

Our University-Industry Foundation (UIF) and its technology holding company provided comprehensive support to ensure effective exhibition activities for participating companies, including booth design, logistics, and management of university student supporters, facilitating their smooth entry onto the global stage. With an average of over 300 visitors per day to our university's booth, we led successful exhibitions where visitors could directly experience the technology.
Furthermore, Yonsei University hosted the 'Yonsei Summit' performance report meeting on-site, bringing together participating companies, university student supporters, and school officials. Vice President for Research Affairs, Park Seung Han, pledged to strengthen industry-academia cooperation, stating, "Yonsei University will continue to lead the way in creating a new world through technology and innovation, fostering a spirit of challenge and creativity, and striving for the co-growth of Yonsei companies."
Mayor of Seoul, Oh Sehoon, who visited the booth, emphasized the collaborative effort of 13 organizations resulting in the largest-ever participation of 81 companies in the Seoul Integrated Pavilion. He remarked, "Participation in CES and winning innovation awards are important milestones for global recognition of our technological capabilities and will serve as important stepping stones for corporate growth," expressing congratulations.
