- Explores Global Leadership Possibilities in Social Enterprises and Korean Firms Based in Hong Kong

From February 9 to 11, the Yonsei Institute of East and West Studies’ Leadership Center held the “Hong Kong Leadership Summit” in Hong Kong. Led by the center’s director, Professor Lee Jung-hoon, the summit emphasized multicultural exchange, while arranging field trips to multinational companies in Hong Kong and offering students opportunities to enhance their networks.
During the summit, students visited three social enterprises, SEBC, SVHK, and Happy Veggies, and two Korean companies with offices in Hong Kong, KOTRA and Uniworld. They also participated in cultural exchanges at the Hong Kong Art Centre and the University of Hong Kong. In addition to these activities, the summit provided a forum for Yonsei students to critically think about the type of global leadership Korean society needs in the future, while learning about the social problems arising due to rapid economic development. The ultimate goal was to spur these future global leaders to reflect on the types of values individuals and corporations ought to reflect in an increasingly globalized market economy.
The summit in Hong Kong was the Leadership Center’s second, following its highly successful “Shanghai Leadership Summit” in 2013.
