Between March 5 and 7, a delegation from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty visited the Yonsei University Health System (YUHS) to discuss YUHS support for the Al-Farabi University Medical Center Project, as well as the establishment of a closer cooperative relationship between the two universities’ medical systems. Led by Al-Farabi Rector Mutanov Galimkair Mutanovich, the Kazakh delegation also included Professor Shalahmetova Tamara Minazhevna, Dean of the College of Biology and Biotechnology, and Advisor for Strategy and Development, Ahn Yevgeniy. Meeting with the Al-Farabi representatives were YUHS President and CEO, Dr. Lee Chul, Director of Planning and Management, Dr. Park Young-hwan, Gangnam Severance Superintendent, Dr. Lee Byoung-suk, Director of International Relations, Dr. Yoon Young-sul, and Director of Gangnam Severance International Medical Center, Dr. Ahn Chul-woo.
As Al-Farabi is undertaking its Medical Center Project in collaboration with Gangnam Severance Hospital, the main purpose of the visit was to engage in intensive talks with YUHS officials regarding the progress of the project and YUHS’ future support for it. In addition to meetings, the Kazakh group toured a variety of high-tech medical facilities within YUHS, as well as Gangnam Severance’s VIP hospital wards and examination clinics.
