The twenty-fifth installment of the Yonsei International Campus Performing Arts Series (YIC PAS) was held on December 4.  Over forty students attended “Beyond the Limit,” a performance put on by pianist Hwang So-won, cellist Ban Hyung-jung, and violinist Choi Hye-sung. The trio performed both solos and ensembles, creating a beautiful harmony.  In particular, the violin caprice played by Choi expressed the theme of the concert, showing how music can push the limits of sound by introducing movement and silence into the performance.  To conclude the concert, the trio performed several Christmas carols.  Students who attended “Beyond the Limit” described the performance as “shocking,” saying that it was “very emotional experiencing the harmony of the three instruments.” 
 YIC PAS is a Residential College (RC) program established to cultivate creativity and aesthetic appreciation in students through the performing arts.  “Beyond the Limit” was the final concert of the fall semester, but the series will continue in 2014 with more high quality performances.
