On October 23rd, Yonsei University Graduate School of Computational Science & Engineering (CSE) signed an MOU with the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST)’s Engineering Laboratory Fire Research Division. According to the MOU, students and researchers will take part in joint projects and exchange resources. Most notably, the 2 institutions will collaborate on NIST-developed Fire Dynamic Simulator (FDS) research focused on studies related to numerical techniques and physics-based heat fluid modeling. The NIST is a government-affiliated institution under the U.S. Department of Commerce established in 1901. It is the federal technology agency that works with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards.
