Education completed a Korean Language Textbook Series that is specially directed at the needs of foreign university students in Korea. The collection comprises 9 books of ‘Korean for University Life’ and 11 books of ‘Academic Korean.’ While the first series consists of the three levels—Beginners, Intermediate 1, and Intermediate 2—in the three areas of speaking, writing, and listening; the second is composed of different three levels—Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Advanced—in the four skills of speaking, writing, listening, and reading. ‘Korean for University Life’ is aimed at developing the communication skills necessary for university life in Korea. As a detachable textbook, the series is composed of various problems and activities that are intended to improve Korean speaking, listening, and writing on diverse themes such as course offerings, club activities, friendship, and facilities and equipment use policies. ‘Academic Korean’ is focused to increase the academic abilities of foreign university students. Aimed to strengthen appropriate and practical skills that are required for taking lectures and achieving course requirements, the series offers useful strategies in various situations on campus. Yonsei KLI continues to develop Korean language textbooks for foreign learners. In addition to the fulfillment of general needs, Yonsei KLI expands to specialized purposes in order to satisfy the diverse needs of foreign Korean learners. This enterprise is for the global society to be able to deepen its understanding of Koreans and Korean society as well as for the realization of Yonsei’s educational ideology.
