126th Anniversary Commemoration Speech At the ceremony held on May 15th in commemoration of Yonsei's 126th anniversary, Yonsei President Kim Han-joong said, "It is time to look back and check if universities have been producing canny copycats and to ask if these students are enjoying a truly meaningful university life." In his congratulatory remark during Yonsei's 126th anniversary commemoration event held in the Centennial Hall at the Shinchon Campus, President Kim said, "It is sad to see students burdened with the idea that their whole lives would fail if their grades aren't good enough. The campus must not be seen merely as a means for future wealth and success." Jo Byung-gook (78), the former director of an affiliated hospital to the Holt Children' Service Inc., received the Yonsei social volunteer award and Professor Lee Seung-jong (Philosophy), Professor Jo Jin-suh (Economics), and Professor Han Kwang-hyup (Medicine) have been awarded scientific prizes. Until the 5th of next month, Yonsei holds an exhibition at the Centennial Memorial hall in memory of Doctor Won Han-gyung's (H. H. Underwood) passing sixty years ago.
