On December 17, 2010, a delegation from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) visited Yonsei, including UCLA Chancellor Gene Block, Vice Provost for International Affairs Randal Johnson, Director of Center for Korean Studies John Duncan, and Executive Director of External Affairs John Peralta. They attended a meeting with Yonsei President Kim Han-joong, Dean of Graduate School of International Studies and of Underwood International College Lee Jeong-min, and Professor Kim Hyung-cheol. In their meeting, Yonsei and UCLA discussed exchange programs in the Incheon International Campus and in the Yonsei University Health System. The UCLA delegation looked around the Severance Hospital and the Yonsei-Samsung Library. UCLA and Yonsei have carried out student exchange programs since 1986 when Yonsei was the first university in Korea to sign a student exchange agreement with nine campuses of the University of California, including UC Berkeley and UCLA. The UCEAP Korean office was established in the Sinchon campus in this year as well. Since 2007, over 200 students of the University of California annually visit and study at Yonsei.
