The President of California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), Steven D. Lavine visited Yonsei for the MOU on exchange programs and joint degree programs. In his interview with Yonsei, he said, “CalArts will build an innovative art school that aims at integral education.” The Yonsei-CalArts School of Arts is expected to open in 2012 at the International Campus. Exchange professors and instructors from CalArts will teach at Yonsei, and half of the student body will be international students. CalArts President added, “This joint degree program with Yonsei is CalArts’ first overseas joint degree program. The goal of this program is to foster talented individuals in arts, technology and other related fields. CalArts has received proposals for joint degree programs from many schools around the world, but we have decided to run our first international joint degree program with Yonsei. This decision stems from the interdisciplinary cooperation for which the programs on Yonsei’s International Campus, such as the programs in the School of Integrated Technology at College of Engineering, are outstanding and exceptional.”
