Global Leadership Camp with 200 High School Students Throughout Country The Yonsei Youth Global Leadership Camp was held on International campus from August 11 to 13 with about 230 Korean high school students. This program was organized and conducted by a mutual agreement with ‘Good Neighbors’, an international humanitarian and development non-governmental organization (NGO) which conducts missions around 27 countries to improve quality of life and educational standards. As Yonsei’s vision, servant leadership is to foster global leaders who have social responsibility and a strong volunteer spirit, and Good Neighbors is an NGO that carries out a wide variety of activities aimed at loving and sharing with neighbors and promoting peace in the global community; the Youth Global Leadership Camp, in which both parties mutually take part in, provides Korean teenagers with a special chance to experience the values of love, peace, justice, equality and volunteering. The main theme of this year’s Youth Global Leadership Camp was ‘The 2050 UN Museum’. The students created ideas of what the future would be like and devised an imaginary museum. They pondered on worldwide issues relevant to starvation, poverty, environmental pollution, religion, war and discrimination. They also focused on the issues related to daily life in the boundaries of family and school. All these issues were addressed in connection with mapping what each student plans to do in contributing to the development of the future human society. The students also attended a special lecture on leadership that was presented by the Mayor of Incheon city, Song Yong-kil. And about 40 students from Yonsei and Good Neighbors volunteered their efforts, helping out with the program and providing mentoring to the high school students.
