[YONSEI NEWS] 236.9 billion won Operating Profit in 2009

Yonsei Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Highest Profit in Korea The Yonsei Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation in 2009 achieved an operating profit of 236.9 billion won. Yonsei ranked the highest among universities in Korea, followed by Hanyang University (195.1 billion won), Korea University (185.5 billion won) Sungkyunkwan University (141.5 billion won), and Pohang University of Science and Technology (135.8 billion). As the counterpart of sales in business, the operating profit of an industry-academic cooperation foundation is comprised of research profit gained by providing service to a company’s research order; profit from knowledge property rights; and government research funding. The Yonsei Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation raised 45.3 billion won as research profit, and 1.5 billion won and 175.4 billion won from knowledge property rights and government research funding, respectively.
