[INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS] Yonsei Strengthened Ties with Europe

President Kim Han-Joong Visited European Universities Yonsei University strengthened international network and cooperative relationships with European universities. Universitiy President Kim Han-Joong and dean of Office of International Affairs Ha Yeon-seop visited Sciences Po in Paris on June 2. They had a meeting with the vice president of Science Po Francis Vérillaud and other faculty members. On June 3, there was a meeting for introducing international exchange programs of Yonsei and ParisTech. Cyrille Van Effenterre, the president of ParisTech, Yves Poilane, the President of Telecom ParisTech participated in the meeting. University President Kim Han-Joong and Cyrille Van Effenterre agreed on signing a new agreement on academic exchanges. From June 4 to 5, Yonsei members participated in the 450th anniversary commemoration ceremony of University of Geneva. During the ceremony and a parade through Geneva, university president Kim Han-Joong wore Yonsei's degree gown as a representative of the university. After the event, the party visited University of Vienna on June 8. They had a meeting with Arthur Mettinger, the Vice President of Vienna University and other international education leaders. Professor Reudiger Frank, who is teaching Korean Studies at the university, participated in the meeting and invigorated discussions about international exchange between Korea and Europe. In the meeting, a new international exchange agreement between Yonsei and Vienna universities was drafted and planned. Through these and other efforts, Yonsei University is now expecting to build more active relationships with European universities.
