5,000 Guests Participate in Entrance Ceremony Held at Jamsil Stadium The 2009 Entrance Ceremony was held on February 16 at the Seoul Jamsil Stadium. With dreams of college life, 5,000 students and parents filled the stadium. This year’s ceremony was held in February, not March, in order to get the students off to an early start. Also, by changing the venue from the Yonsei Amphitheater to the Jamsil Stadium, the space problem was resolved, making it possible for all students and parents to attend the ceremony. The ceremony began with a speech from the university president and was followed by an introduction to the university. In the afternoon, the Student Association and the Cheerleaders held a welcoming event. Yonsei alums, MBC news anchor Oh Sang-Jin and KBS news anchor Yoon Soo-Young hosted the five-hour event, where various student music and dance groups performed. The new students participated in various school spirit-boosting activities, and the event ended with the grand finale performance by the university president and members of the board. On February 17-19, individual colleges held their orientation events.
