The Yonsei Office of International Affairs held the Second International Scholars Day on May 1 at the President’s Residence with 300 international professors and researchers. International faculty from diverse backgrounds and nationalities had not had a chance to gather in one place and meet each other, but this event made it possible for this to happen. Through this event, the international members of the Yonsei community were able to come together under the common banner of Yonsei, sharing the spirit and values of Yonsei. The First International Scholars Day was held last year with 150 international faculty members. For this year’s event, University President Kim Han-Joong and 300 faculty members gathered to share the vision of “Yonsei, the First and the Best”. The day’s events, hosted by Dean Ha Yeon-Seob of the Office of International Affairs, consisted of President Kim’s greeting remarks, with Professor Michael Joyce from U.K. speaking in response, performances from student jazz and classical music groups, and a raffle drawing. The Yonsei International Scholars Day has gained an extremely positive reputation both domestically and internationally, and is expected to aid in the enhancement of Yonsei’s international reputation
