Professor Dr. Kim Sang Yong, who teaches Civil Law at Yonsei University had been awarded the Humboldt Research Award (Humboldt-Forschungspreis) from the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung) in 2006. Professor Kim will be awarded 50,000 Euros, and the award ceremony will be held next March in Bamberg, Germany. A celebratory reception will also be held by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, which is scheduled next June at the presidential palace in Berlin, Germany. Professor Kim is the second winner of the Humboldt Research Award in the field of jurisprudence in Korea. The first Korean recipient of the Humboldt Research Award was Professor Dr. Huh Young in 1998, who had taught the constitutional law at Yonsei University.
