Examining Growth of One Metal-Organic Framework on Another

Research conducted by Yonsei Chemistry Professor Moonhyun Oh and his team was published in the November issue of the Journal of the American Chemical Society, one of the most cited publications in the field. The article, “Isotropic and Anisotropic Growth of Metal–Organic Framework (MOF) on MOF: Logical Inference on MOF Structure Based on Growth Behavior and Morphological Feature,” helps to clarify the scientific understanding of the growth behavior of one MOF on another MOF in the construction of hybrid MOFs. The research promises to contribute to the development of new MOF-based functional materials, which have potential applications for gas storage, gas/vapor separation, catalysis, luminescence, and drug delivery.
