Winter Arrives at Yonsei

→Appenzeller Hall

Appenzeller Hall was built thanks to donations from the Methodist Church in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, which were given to commemorate the life and service of H.G. Appenzeller, the American missionary who founded the Paichai Hakdang (Paichai School).

Completed in 1924, Appenzeller Hall is a two-story stone building designed in Tudor Gothic style, which is commonly found on American university campuses. The Korean government has designated the building as a Cultural Treasure. Along with Stimson Hall and Underwood Hall, it forms an open courtyard in the center of the Sinchon Campus. Appenzeller Hall is currently occupied by the Graduate School of Social Welfare and the Yonsei University Volunteer Center.
