The project group of UIC aims to examine and analyze the domestic and global social problems and to train social innovators through various academic programs and hands-on learning opportunities. Since UIC is recognized by its global competence and interdisciplinary studies in the field of liberal arts education ranging from social science, design, management and technology, it is selected as a successful candidate for the project.

The project consists of various academic programs including Social Innovator Certification, Center for Social Innovation, academic advising, and international exchange, followed by relevant administrative supports. It also includes extra-curricular programs such as Social Innovation Internship Scholarship, Public Service Consulting, Global Innovator Tour, and etc.

“Our goal is to provide the opportunity, both inside and outside of the classroom, where students can think about the values necessary to the society and be able to actualize the values through social innovation”, says Director Michael Kim.

The CK project is a government-funded project to specialize each university’s strength based on local demand for the purpose of reinforcing universities’ competitiveness and promoting the betterment of the local society.
