Yonsei has become a “smart” campus thanks to the “S-Campus Project,” which now offers a number of services enabling students to enjoy a “smart and convenient campus life.” Through their smartphones, students can now check on the location of shuttle buses and book tickets to the Yonsei campuses in Songdo and Wonju; they can also access information about the various cafeterias, including how crowded each one is, and reserve seats in the library.

For teachers, beacon short-range wireless technology in lecture halls, which works by connecting with the mobile ID card from student smartphones, allows for automatic attendance checks. At the same time, it enables instructors to identify students from their photographs. Moreover, the Y-Safe System has enhanced security on campus. Approximately 1,000 high-resolution cameras fitted with nighttime infrared sensors have been installed; when an emergency situation arises, students can alert the control center by shaking their phone, allowing security personnel to quickly arrive on the scene.
