College of Science Celebrates 100th Anniversary

The Yonsei College of Science celebrated its 100^th anniversary. Founded in 1915 as the Science Department of Yonhi College, the College of Science stands at the origin of modern science in Korea, and for the past century, it has played a key role in advancing the natural sciences and engineering in this country.

In his congratulatory remarks, Yonsei President Jeong Kap-young praised the college’s proud history and spoke of its bright future: “I have little doubt that the Yonsei College of Science will make its mark globally, rising to the challenges of the future with the pioneering spirit of its founders.” Dean Park Seung-han of the College of Science also spoke, expressing his gratitude “to all the people who truly love and have supported the College of Science.” He added: “It is my hope for the Yonsei College of Science to be the hope of world science.” To commemorate its 100^th anniversary, the College of Science has published the book Yonsei Scientific Technology of the Century.
