On January 7, Yonsei’s Nano Manufacturing Research Center (NMRC) hosted an international workshop entitled “Innovative Economy: Digital Convergence and Nanotechnology” at the Sangnam Institute of Management.  The event was co-sponsored by Yonsei University and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), and its focus was the development of new and innovative nanotechnologies, as well as their role in the economic future of Korea. 
At the workshop, a number of international scholars and specialists were in attendance, including Professor Costas Grigoropoulos of UC Berkeley and Professor YoshimasaKawata of Japan’s Shizuoka University. Yonsei President JeongKap-young and KITECH President Lee Young-soo gave welcoming addresses, while panel presentations were provided by Professor David Hwang, Professor Song Young-min, Professor Han Jae-won, and Dr. Kang Kyoung-tae.  In his opening remarks, President Jeong said:  “With the convergence of digital technology and the development of nanotechnology, the economic future of our nation looks very bright.”
