To Be Used For Scholarships and the Advancement of Yonsei Academics Former C&M Chairman Lee Min-Joo (60) donated 10 billion won to Yonsei on June 3. Mr. Lee agreed to donate a total of 10 billion won over five years, which will be used as scholarships for outstanding students facing economic hardship and also to fund various projects to advance the academic standing of Yonsei University. Mr. Lee made the decision to donate 20 billion won after selling C&M, the largest cable company in the metropolitan area. In addition to donating 10 billion won to Yonsei, Mr. Lee donated 6.5 billion won to KAIST and Myongji University with C&M for the advancement of the media industry, and individually donated 3.5 billion won to other institutions including Dongguk University. Last year, Mr. Lee had donated three billion won to Yonsei University and Seoul Women’s University for scholarships and other academic funds.
