On April 13, Yonsei University agreed on an MOU with the UN University for Peace. Acting Rector George Tsai of the University for Peace visited Yonsei to meet with President Jung Chang-young and Dean Chang Dae-ryun of the Graduate School of International Studies. The UN University of Peace was established in 1980 as a treaty organization following the decision of the UN General Assembly. It is an institution which is empowered to give master’s and doctor’s degrees according to articles approved by the UN. The University of Peace has made official agreements with other prestigious institutions worldwide, including the American University in the U.S., the Bradford University in the U.K., Adis Abab University in Ethiopia, the International Committee of the Red Cross in Mexico, the Ritsumeikan University in Japan, the United Nations University, and the University of Costa Rica.
