Achieving Practical Outcomes to Address Global Vaccine Inequality
On December 6, the K-NIBRT successfully completed the "Global Bio Workforce Training Hub Program: mRNA Vaccine Training."
This training program was funded by the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority and managed by the Global Bio Workforce Training Hub Foundation.
The program was designed for 18 trainees from low- and middle-income countries and focused on manufacturing processes for mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid) vaccines and other vaccines in high global demand. The curriculum included both theoretical and practical components required for vaccine production, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Through these efforts, the K-NIBRT team aims to continue addressing global vaccine inequality and enhancing the global healthcare safety net.
Diego Alvarez, a trainee from Colombia, expressed his satisfaction, saying, “I’m delighted to have learned about the complex vaccine manufacturing processes through this program, and I gained many ideas on how to improve my work based on this knowledge.”Director of the K-NIBRT, stated, “This training significantly improved the vaccine production capabilities of many trainees, contributing to the realization of vaccine self-sufficiency in their respective countries. Moving forward, K-NIBRT will continue collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Global Bio Workforce Training Hub Foundation, and other related organizations to operate various programs for global bio workforce development.”
