Strengthening the Yonsei Identity Through Alumni Entrepreneur Networks
The Yonsei Enterprise Support Foundation, led by Director Lee Joon-sang, successfully hosted the 2024 Yonsei Start-up Reunion on Friday, September 6th, at the Presidential Residence Reception Hall.
In his opening address, President Dong-sup Yoon congratulated the alumni entrepreneurs, stating, “I sincerely applaud your remarkable achievements and growth as you have led your startups with passion and vision, overcoming numerous challenges through relentless effort. I hope today’s event serves not only as a celebration but also as a platform for active collaboration among startups."
Following the President’s remarks, the opening session concluded with a welcoming address from Director Lee Joon-sang of the Yonsei Enterprise Support Foundation and congratulatory remarks from Son Yang-chul.
The subsequent sessions included startup presentations, a donation ceremony, and a networking dinner.
In the first session, a program was held to introduce the 25-year history of the Yonsei Enterprise Support Foundation and outline its future direction, highlighting its achievements and upcoming initiatives.
The second session featured a donation ceremony for the Startup Space Development Fund. Kim Jae-seung, CEO and alumnus who had received support from the Yonsei Enterprise Support Foundation during his graduate studies, founded a company focused on autonomous driving and spatial information solutions through LIDAR technology in 2017. He generously donated stocks worth 528,448,000 KRW to the university. As per his wishes, the fund will be utilized for creating startup spaces to support future student entrepreneurs.
The final session was a networking dinner, where startup representatives briefly introduced their companies, followed by networking opportunities among the attendees.
The next Yonsei Start-up Reunion will be held in 2025 to commemorate Yonsei University's 140th anniversary. -
