A dedication ceremony was held to commemorate the relocation of Yonsei University Global Leaders College (GLC) to Miwu Hall, giving thanks for GLC's new start and pledging to leap forward.

On January 9, GLC held a dedication ceremony for the relocation on the 8th and 9th floors of the newly relocated Miwu Hall, attended by about 50 faculty members.

Since GLC began relocating the classrooms to the 9th floor of Miwu Hall (Rooms 904, 905, and 908) in September 2022, a total of 11 new spaces have been created through remodeling the entire 8th floor and completed the relocation on December 8. This includes the SeAH Hall (Room 801), which is a medium-sized lecture room created by the development fund donated by the SeAH Group, professors' rooms (Rooms 806-812), the Dean's room (Room 804), the Vice Dean's room (Room 805), and the administration office (Room 803). As a result, GLC has successfully completed preparations for new development and leaps forward by securing a more expansive space covering all 8 and 9 floors of Miwu Hall, along with the existing lecture rooms and students' spaces in New Millennium Hall that have been used since 2018.

To commemorate this, the dedication ceremony for relocating the GLC to Miwu Hall was held with about 50 participants, including the Provost, Senior Vice Presidents, former and current Deans, and some 30 university personnel who contributed to the growth and relocation of GLC.

Dean Chung Meehyun of University Chaplaincy hosted the dedication ceremony in Room 905. After singing hymns, praying, and reading the Bible, the ceremony was followed by a welcome message from Dean Kim Seongmoon of GLC and a congratulatory speech from Provost Kim Eunkyoung.

"First of all, I would like to thank God for securing a dedicated space, which was the long-cherished project of GLC, with opening the Miwu Hall era," said Dean Kim of GLC. "And I would like to sincerely thank all the university members, including the President, for their interest and support for developing GLC. We will do our best to help GLC become a leading college in Yonsei's development in the future."

"I would like to thank Dean Kim, professors, and staff members for their tireless efforts and dedication to the development and growth of GLC until today's dedication ceremony," said Provost Kim in her congratulatory speech. "In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all officials in the university, including the Office of Property Management, for their cooperation in the successful relocation of GLC to Miwu Hall. I will also spare my attention and support to make GLC a top-class global college with a high status and reputation that students all around the world want to attend."

After the closing of the dedication ceremony with a benediction by Dean Chung of University Chaplaincy, participants joined a tour on the 8th and 9th floors of Miwu Hall under the guidance of Dean Kim of GLC. In Room 904, which was customized for the practice of the Cultural Media major students, Professor Kim Sang Min of the Cultural Media major demonstrated media content and explained the special features of the classroom, which allow students to take lectures and practice at the same place. Participants toured some other areas, including the Applied Information Lab (Room 908), which was created for the experiments and practices of students majoring in Applied Information Engineering, and moved to the SeAH Hall and held a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Room 801, the SeAH Hall, is a medium-sized lecture room with 50 seats, prepared with a development fund of 100 million won from the SeAH Group. It is equipped with the latest audio and video equipment, allowing not only lectures but also various events and conferences. Guests gathered here and held a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the relocation and shared the historical moment of GLC by taking a group photo. GLC also shared its carefully prepared refreshments with them.

Meanwhile, GLC held a year-end party on December 22 last year to celebrate the relocation and share the good news with its students. GLC also awarded a plaque of appreciation to Lee Tae-sung, CEO of the SeAH Holdings, who has donated the development fund. Through this dedication ceremony, GLC officially reported to all institutions in Yonsei University the completion of relocating. We hope that interest and support will continue both internally and externally for GLC's leap forward in the future.
