Supporting Talented Students to Enter International Organizations

On July 5, Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, invited former South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha, a Yonsei alumnus, and held a special lecture for the "Academy for Career at International Organizations" program. The lecture was held successfully, with more than 300 students attending.

For ten weeks since May, Yonsei University has been conducting the "Academy for Career at International Organizations" program for undergraduate and graduate students to help talented students enter international organizations to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and contribute to the human society around the world.

In this special lecture, which was arranged for the last day of this curriculum, former Foreign Minister Kang analyzed international issues, shared experiences in international organizations, and advised on entering the international stage under the theme "Chances come to those who are ready." In particular, she urged the students to participate and pay attention to the international community to promote cooperation in maintaining peace on the Korean Peninsula and the global society.

"Through this academy, we will continue to expand various curriculums and internship opportunities so that students can grow into global leaders to achieve the UN's SDGs," said Professor Song In Han, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services, "And we hope that students will have a spirit of challenge to contribute to human society."

Yonsei University is cooperating with various international organizations in South Korea and abroad, such as internships, and plans to continue holding the "Academy for Career at International Organizations" course in the second half of this year to foster global talents.
