More than 100 Students Participate in Games, Audition, and Group Parties

On November 5, the Yonsei University Global Leaders College held a student gathering on the Metaverse. It was attended by more than a hundred students and lasted about four hours.
The event was held through Gather Town, a virtual space gathering platform. The programs included online games, such as the "Red Light, Green Light" from a Netflix drama Squid Game, which were conducted by using Roblox application. Other than that, group online parties and an audition program "GLC GOT TALENT" were also held.
"It is very meaningful that a hundred students experienced the games from Squid Game, which is causing a Korean Wave boom all over the world in the midst of COVID-19, when large-scale gatherings are difficult to be held," said Professor Seongmoon Kim, Dean of the Global Leaders College. "We will continue holding events through the Metaverse, including department introductions, special lectures on employment, and meetings between professors and students."

Bao Tram Do (Freshman, Global Leaders Division), who participated in the event, said, "After entering college, I had never been to the campus and was living a lonely life since I had difficulty communicating with my friends. But thanks to this event I was very happy to have a good time with my friends and senior students on the Metaverse."
Kim Seo Yeon (Sophomore, Bio & Living Engineering), who won at the GLC GOT TALENT, said, "It is a great honor to win the first place. And as a member of the “class of COVID” who could not have a chance to enjoy the life on campus, I think this gathering will be an unforgettable memory in college life."
The Global Leaders College of Yonsei University will actively support students to communicate more actively through the Metaverse even in the post-COVID-19 era, and will also prepare to run various programs with students on the campus next year.
