Recognized for medical staff work efficiency, patient safety, and 5G- and AI-based digital solutions
Yongin Severance Hospital of Yonsei University Health System won the Minister of Science and ICT Award in the Management Innovation Sector at the 20th Korea Digital Management Innovation Awards.
The award was given in recognition of its advancement in medical staff work efficiency, patient safety, and convenience through digital solutions using 5G and artificial intelligence (AI).
The 20th Korea Digital Management Innovation Awards was held on September 24, 2020, at Sejong Hotel in Seoul. Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Big Data Society, the awards recognize organizations or companies that featured leading digital practices in different areas such as management, technology, and platform and promoted global competitiveness in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era.
Yongin Severance Hospital, which opened on March 1, 2020, as the first domestic medical institution based on 5G, integrates various digital solutions such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data throughout the hospital. It crowned the Minister’s Award in the Management Innovation Sector in recognition of its advanced operational efficiency to increase patient safety, provide the best medical services, and innovate management processes.
In particular, the hospital was highly evaluated for creating a safer healthcare environment by enhancing medical staff’s work efficiency and the safety and convenience of patients through innovative operations including 1) Real-Time Location System (RTLS) for safety accidents and infectious diseases, 2) Integrated Response Space (IRS) to monitor inpatients, 3) AI video diagnosis solution, 4) AI-based automatic voice recognition solution, 5) Collaborative messenger (Y-Talk) for medical staff, 6) Mobile application for patients, 7) Digital pathology system, 8) Automated diagnostic laboratory system, and 9) Mobile patient experience and customer satisfaction surveys.
