Yonsei School of Business places 70th in the Financial Times Executive Education Rankings 2019 for customized programs

Yonsei School of Business ranked 70th in the world in the Financial Times (FT) Executive Education Ranking 2019 for customized programs. It has been the only Korean business school on the list for the past four years.

The rankings recognized the 2018 customized programs run by Sangnam Institute of Management (SIM) – an executive education institution affiliated with Yonsei School of Business – for corporate clients including major domestic giants Samsung Electronics, IBK Industrial Bank, Shinsegae Group, Kumho Asiana Group, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, LF, GS, and BGF Retail.

The FT Executive Education Custom rankings are primarily based on ratings provided by students and companies which have participated in the programs. Evaluation criteria include program design, teaching methods & materials, faculty, new skills & learning, follow-up, aims achieved, future use, partner schools, and facilities. In particular, SIM ranked 37th globally in the follow-up category, having been recognized for the extent and effectiveness of its attention to feedback and relevant services offered after program participants returned to their workplaces.

“This achievement reflects the steady advance of our executive education programs that are tailored to meet the specific needs and concerns of our corporate clients,” commented Lee Ho Geun, Dean of SIM. "SIM will continue to develop insightful programs that meet global standards.”

“Yonsei School of Business has further secured its status as a world-class provider of education in business and management as SIM’s customized programs received global recognition for four consecutive years, said Suh Kil-Soo, Dean of Yonsei School of Business. “We will continue striving to play a leading role in business education.”

Sangnam Institute of Management (SIM) is Korea’s largest professional education and training institution, having provided over 20 programs annually for the past five years. Founded in 1999 with the financial support of Honorary Chairman of LG Group Koo Cha-kyung, the Institute celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Since its establishment, the number of companies participating in executive education at SIM has increased annually, and more than 80% of existing partners have continued for at least three years. By 2018, about 18,000 executives have participated in SIM’s diverse programs.
