Guidance on the August 2024 Commencement Ceremony



Congratulations on your graduation.
Please refer to the following information on the commencement ceremony.



▣ Commencement Ceremony: August 30, 2024 (Fri) 11:00 am, Main Auditorium


▣ Caps and Gowns Distribution

  A. Colleges will distribute the caps and gowns on August 26 (Mon), 27 (Tue), 28 (Wed), 29 (Thu), and 30 (Fri). Please present your student ID card and a payment receipt for laundry and storage of the gown. If someone else comes on behalf of the graduating student, they must bring the student's ID and receipt.

  ￭ Time
  - August 26 (Mon) - 29 (Thu) (Weekdays): 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
  - August 30 (Fri): 9:30 am - 2:00 pm

  B. Gown Laundry and Storage Fee:
 - 5,000 won for undergraduate graduates
 - 7,000 won for graduate school graduates (master's degree)
 - Transfer to virtual accounts. ※Refer to [Attachment 2]

  C. Those who have unreturned books to the library must return all the books and obtain a certificate of completion of book returning to receive the cap and gown from each college.


▣ Graduation Yearbook Distribution

The yearbooks will be distributed from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm on August 26 (Mon), 27 (Tue), 28 (Wed), 29 (Thu), 30 (Fri) at the Room 218 in the Student Union Building. Please present your ID card, and if someone else comes on behalf of the graduating student, they must bring the student's ID.


▣ Entering the Commencement Ceremony

 Graduates will enter the Main Auditorium by 10:30 am on the very day with the guidance of the faculty.
 *The entrance to the first floor of the Main Auditorium will be locked when the ceremony starts. Please cooperate with the guidance.


▣ Degree Grant Process

[Bachelor, Master]
  A. Once the representative of each degree is raised to the podium, all graduates of the degree will stand up.
  B. When the representative is awarded a degree certificate, turns back, and moves the cap's tassel from right to left, all the graduates move their tassel simultaneously.
  C. When the representative goes down from the podium, all the graduates sit.

[Doctor]
  A. Each graduate stands up when their name is called.
  B. When the representative goes down from the podium, all the graduates sit.

▣ Returning Caps and Gowns, and Distribution of Graduation Certificates

A. Please return your cap and gown to your college by 4:30 pm on August 30, 2024 (Fri), and receive your graduation certificate.
B. If you don't return your cap and gown, you will not be able to receive your certificate.


▣ Notes
Traffic in the Sinchon area and campus will be congested on the day of the commencement ceremony, so please use public transportation.
