Tuition Installment Plan (TIP) Guidelines

for Undergraduate & General Graduate School, Spring 2022



[Application period]

▶ December 29, 2021 (Wed) - February 13, 2022 (Sun) (No application available after the period)


[Students NOT qualified for TIP]

▶ Freshmen, Re-admitted students, Transfer students for 2022 Spring Semester (only the first semester)

▶ Students who have applied for a government guaranteed students loan

▶ Students who have applied for research guidance without registered credit (12/100 payment)

▶ Students who failed to make one of payments during the last semester’s tuition installment plan

▶ For 4 installment, scholarship or extra semester reduction of an amount greater than 3/4 of tuition.

▶ For 2 installment, scholarship or extra semester reduction of an amount greater than 1/2 of tuition.

▶ Visit Yonsei portal system (http://portal.yonsei.ac.kr/main/indexe.jsp) → Tuition and payment → Registration → Installment Payment

* Please keep in mind that deadline for each payment is 17:00 on last day of each period


[Please Note]

▶ Credit card payments are NOT available for TIP applicants

▶ Students returning to school can apply for the installment payment plan before applying to return

▶ If the 1st payment is not made properly, the TIP will be automatically canceled, and the full tuition must be paid during the the additional application period (March 11, 2022 - March 15)

If the TIP is not paid properly, the TIP will be automatically canceled, and the full remaining balance must be paid immediately. If the balance is not paid, it’s considered unregistered and the semester cannot be completed according to the school regulations (NOT CARRIED OVER TO NEXT PAYMENT)

▶ Overseas remittance must be confirmed within scheduled payment period. Consider bank charges and exchange rates when sending from overseas. (The full amount must be confirmed) Remaining balance will be returned to the bank account registered at Yonsei Portal.

▶ If the TIP is not paid on time, the application for TIP for the next semester is restricted.

If the application is complete, the date and time of application will be displayed at the top of screen 

▶ Applications for installment payment can only be made during the designated period and if not qualified, it will be cancelled without notice.

▶ If there’s reduction (taking extra semester or receiving scholarships), the amount of TIP is calculated on the basis of full tuition and the amount of reduction will be deducted from the final payment

case1) Tuition: KRW 4,120,000, 4 installment, 1/2 tuition scholarship (Total payment: KRW 2,060,000):

1st TIP: KRW 1,030,000 / 2nd : KRW 1,030,000 / No payment for 3rd and 4th

case2) Tuition: KRW 4,120,000, 2 installments, KRW 1,000,000 scholarship (Total payment: KRW 3,120,000) → 1st TIP: KRW 2,060,000/ 2nd : KRW 1,060,000
