Yonsei’s Response to Confirmed COVID-19 Case [Yeonhi Hall] 2020.11.03

In response to a confirmed COVID-19 case at Yeonhi Hall, Yonsei University informs the corresponding travel log and measures as follows.


1.    A staff member of the College of Social Sciences was confirmed positive for COVID-19 around 9:30 am on Tuesday, November 3.


2.    The person came to work on campus on Monday, November 2. After being informed that an acquaintance they had dinner with on Friday, October 30, had tested positive for COVID-19, the person departed the campus at 10:45 am and drove their car to the Seodaemun-gu Health Center, where they tested for COVID-19.


3.    It was confirmed that the person stayed at the office on the second floor of Yeonhi Hall during 9:00 - 10:45 am on Monday, November 2. Upon receiving notification on the same day that there had been close contacts with the confirmed person, the university completed disinfection measures for all relevant spaces and the entire second floor of the building.


4.    According to current investigation results, the two confirmed close contact cases are two graduate students who were in the same space in Yeonhi Hall. Once informed on Monday, November 2, that they had come into close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, the graduate students returned home at 12 pm and have been in self-quarantine since then. Following the guidance of the quarantine authorities, they will be tested for COVID-19.


5.    University members are advised to pay special attention to preventive measures such as temperature-checking. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, please get tested at a screening clinic near you.
