“In hopes of achieving my future career as an educator in both Korea and China, I decided to come to Yonsei University to pursue my studies as a Korean Language and Culture Education major of the Global Leadership College (GLC).


I was able to further explore studies in Korean language teaching productive skills and reading skills, and I also enjoy Korean culture classes. The professors and administrative staff are very supportive and there is a feeling of closeness, as our professors know the names of all the students. Here, international students get personalized support to realize their academic potential and adjust well to university life.


One of my most memorable experiences is serving as President of the “Foreigners Fly Forever” Foreign Student Council and also as a member of Yonsei's Global Association of Promotion. I am deeply involved in creating more opportunities for foreign students and promoting GLC. “Foreigners Fly Forever” consists of students with various ethnic backgrounds who are non-native Korean speakers. There are times when members experience cultural disparities, but everyone is open and willing to accept differences. Personally, I feel more motivated to contribute to the student council here at Yonsei compared to my experience back in China.


During the remainder of my time at Yonsei, I look forward to dedicating my time in the Foreign Student Council and as a student ambassador, as well as traveling more around Korea. I plan to pursue a dual degree this fall and am considering to continue my studies in education at the graduate level at Yonsei University.”

GLC offers the world's first Korean language-based premium undergraduate curriculum for international and overseas Korean students. GLC provides various support systems for student to be able to adapt quickly to new policies and a new educational environment of Korea. Currently 600 students from 24 countries are participating in its curriculum of Korean Culture, Korean Language and Culture Education, International Commerce majors.
