“Before coming to Korea, I had attended the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria in Brazil for three years, majoring in international relations. My major sparked my interest in East Asia and I wanted to pursue my undergraduate studies in a country with high quality education and a safe living environment, finally deciding on South Korea and Yonsei.
My courses here at Yonsei are both challenging and eye-opening. One of my most memorable courses was 'Modern Society and Public Administration,' where I was able to understand contemporary society in Korea and the global community on a deeper level as well as refine my critical thinking skills. My best personal experience at Yonsei is the Fencing Club. I was able to make and maintain close ties with the Korean students and feel like we are one big family together. Although it was my first time fencing, I was eager to learn and compete in competitions. I really enjoy the sense of community and Yonsei Pride that is widespread among students and on campus.
Before coming to Yonsei, I had initially planned to return to Brazil after graduation and purse my dream to become a diplomat, but now I am considering to continue my studies at the graduate level. I am inspired by the professors and am exploring the possibility of becoming a professor. I look forward to continuing my search for my future dreams during the remainder of my time at Yonsei.”
