Catch It Early, Save a Mind: Fluid Markers Can Help in the Early Detection of Alzheimer’s
Is there a way to diagnose Alzheimer's disease before the start of its debilitating symptoms? A team of researchers at Yonsei University, led by Professor YoungSoo Kim (Pharmacy), explored how "fluid biomarkers" can be used as diagnostic tools to dectect AD early on. The team's findings were published in an insightful review in Experimental & Molecular Medicine and selected to be part of “Springer Nature 2019 Research Highlights.”
Humans of Yonsei
“As a female artist with mixed backgrounds, I realized that I had to understand my identity first to cope with stereotypes that surround myself, which brought me to Yonsei. As a Korean Language & Literature major, I was able to perceive and understand my roots better, while also growing as a versatile thinker and learner through Yonsei’s interdisciplinary approach to learning. Korea’s unique culture of bonding is also reflected through Yonsei’s traditions, and I feel welcome, more open to understanding myself better and growing as an individual.”
