The Facilitation Conference was held at Yonsei University Sinchon Campus from January 31st to February 1st. The annual event was first held in 2011. This year around 100 university students from 14 schools in Korea and abroad participated in various workshops organized under the theme, “Facilitate the World.” “Facilitation” is a recent communication technique that has become a phenomenon among global businesses, educational institutions and NGOs which promotes a community culture. As the importance of communication grows, the conference is popular among students as it provides an opportunity to acquire skills as a facilitator. During the 2-day program, students not only learn the meaning of facilitation, but also participate in team activities where they can apply and practice their skills. Yonsei FLUS (Yonsei Facilitating Leaders of University’s Student), the organizer of the conference, is supported by the Korea Facilitator Association and is an affiliate student group of the Yonsei Leadership Center. It aims to create opportunities for university students to have an experience in facilitating, as in the real world, resolving conflicts and relations through communication and respect for others.
