Yonsei School of Business is among The Economist’s 2012 world’s best business schools for the second consecutive time. It is the only Korean university on the list. The Economist published the 2012 Full time MBA ranking on October 4th on which Yonsei ranks 83rd. In Asia, Yonsei comes in 6th after the University of Hong Kong, Indian Institute of Management, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Nanyang Technological University and Graduate School of International Management of International University of Japan. It ranks higher than China Europe International Business School and The NUS Business School of National University of Singapore which are emerging as the best global MBA in Asia. Along with Korea, 6 Asian countries are on the list, including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Japan. Yonsei ranks 14th in education, 18th in alumni network and 22nd in employment (within 3 years of graduation) bolstering its overall ranking and increasing competitiveness. Since 2010, Yonsei intended to increase admission of foreign students to over 50% and has been aiming to create a more globalized educational environment. For 3 years, it has succeeded in doing so and there are currently students from 34 countries: including US and Canada in North America; El Salvador and Columbia in South America; Ghana and Cameroon in Africa; England, Bulgaria and France in Europe; Taiwan, Mongolia, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Japan and Thailand in Asia. Alumni and students alike have said that the biggest advantage of Yonsei’s MBA is that they get to study and interact with students from all over the world. Yonsei ranks high in the alumni network sector thanks to consistent contact with alumni and students across all Yonsei MBA programs: Executive MBA, Corporate MBA, Finance MBA and Global MBA. Furthermore, the Career Development Center continues to offer opportunities for internships and on-site educational training driving up employment rates and satisfaction. Park Sang-yong, Dean of Yonsei School of Business says, “Yonsei MBA is steadfastly maintaining its place in the global MBA ranking. We want to ensure that the Korean MBA succeeds on an international level. In order to do that, we will exert efforts to improve Yonsei MBA, by developing the curriculum, for example.” Yonsei Corporate MBA also made the Financial Times’ list if the World’s Top 100 EMBA in 2010 and 2011. Accordingly, Yonsei is the only Korean university to successfully rank among the top 100 in both full-time and half-time MBA.
