A dissertation written by an undergraduate student was published in a SCI-level international academic journal. Lee Kang-joo, under the guidance of Professor Ryu Won-hyung, graduated from Yonsei's School of Mechanical Engineering in February and entered the integrated curriculum at the graduate school. Lee's dissertation was published in a SCI-level international journal, Biomedical Microdevices (IF 3.431). The dissertation demonstrates the development and effectiveness of a drug delivery device which can deliver desired drugs to a localized area during a certain period of time using biodegradable high molecular compound. Unlike existing drug delivery devices which limit the discharge rate of drugs due to deformation, the new device can deliver any drug regardless of its nature.
