The Yonsei University School of Business’ Global MBA (GMBA) has achieved the first MBA program in Korea to be ranked in the “World’s top 100 full-time MBAs” by the Economist magazine, and was positioned the 4th among Asian business schools included in the ranking. The magazine’s editors ranked the Yonsei School of Business program 76th in the world, higher than the China Europe International Business School and the National University of Singapore. “This ranking among the world’s elite business schools is the recognition of our hard work at many levels,” said Sang-yong Park, dean of the Yonsei School of Business. “It does not mean our work is over, but it does mark a big step toward our goal of getting into the Top 50 global MBAs by 2015, the 100th anniversary of the Yonsei School of Business. We expect to be eventually among the top 30 global business schools and compete with the world’s best universities.” The Yonsei School of Business has achieved more: Its Corporate MBA for executives was also ranked 71st in the “EMBA rankings 2010” by the Financial Times. This was another “first” in Korean business schools. These rankings have come after a series of concerted efforts to develop and implement a diverse range of specialized programs to meet the academic needs of people with different levels of expertise and of people at different stages in their careers. An integral part of those efforts has been to attract international students as well as draw the best faculty from the world’s premier schools who will undertake various sophisticated researches. In pursuing its goals, the Yonsei School of Business has sought and achieved international recognition through accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The Yonsei School of Business was the first Korean business school invited to join the Graduate Management Admission Council, and it has executed cooperative agreements with the CFA that recognize the school’s programs as the global standards.
