Yonsei awarded the eleventh Underwood Missionary Award to Missionary Kim Yong-ae from Potchefstroom, Republic of South Africa, and Missionary Roh Joong-gi from Gillim-seong Yeongil-shi, China. This award is given by Yonsei University to missionaries working in remote areas and was designed in 2011 to commemorate founder Underwood's spirit. The award-giving ceremony was held during chapel at the Amphitheater on October 11th. Missionary Kim Yong-ae was dispatched from Won-Cheon Church to Potchefstroom, South Africa in March 1991. Kim graduated from the College of Education and was a teacher at a school for twenty-six years. To fulfill his calling from God, Kim went to the Republic of South Africa and started to work for African people. Kim spread the Gospel at schools and courts and founded PNBC to extend missionary work in areas of teaching and job training. In addition to spreading the Gospel, Kim does far more by providing food to the poor sponsored by local supermarkets. Moreover, Kim founded an orphanage for children suffering from AIDS． Currently, about fifty people including adoptive parents are living in the orphanage and Kim has been taking care of them for the past twenty years. In May of 1993, Missionary Roh Joong-gi was dispatched as a missionary for the Korean Methodist Church. In November of the same year, he became part of China's welfare center and started medical work in a hospital at Yanbian University located in Gillim-seong Yeongil-shi, China. Roh graduated from Korea University's School of Medicine and became an assistant professor of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Soon Chun Hyang University. After recognizing his calling from God, Roh has been fulfilling his calling by doing volunteer work in China. Currently, at Yanbian University, he has become widely known for his heart surgeries and people from twenty-six provinces come and go to get treated. With the help of various sponsors, Roh provided financial support for those without enough money to receive surgery and he also visited the homes of patients to give courage. He organized a sports event for the group "Saeshimhwe," which consists of people who have become completely well after receiving heart surgery. He is also helping students receive scholarships. Moreover, Roh was requested by a public hospital in Naseon-shi to treat North Korean patients, and he currently supports medical offices and day care centers in Gul-po ri
