On September 16, Costa Rica’s Foreign Minister Rene Castro Salazar visited Yonsei University. University President Kim Han-Joong and the Foreign Minister congratulated each other on the establishment of academic exchange agreement, which was first proposed in January when ex-Minister Bruno Stagno Ugarte had visited Korea. University President Kim expressed positive expectations on Yonsei University’s international status in Costa Rica. The academic agreement includes exchange of graduate school students, collaborative research, academic data exchange, and cultural exchange. Furthermore, Minister Rene Castro Salazar gave a special lecture at Yonsei as a special guest speaker. In the Yonheegwan Room 218, at 3pm, the Minister visited Professor Lee Yeon-ho’s course on international organization and collaborative development and gave a special lecture on “Eco Diplomacy: Climate Change, Risks, and Opportunities for Korea and Central America”.
