Yonsei Law School created waves at the first International ADR Mooting Competition held in Hong Kong from Aug. 9th to 14th. Yonsei Law School’s Alternative Dispute Resolution team beat out Harvard Law School’s team to take the fourth place, the only team from Korea to advance so far. The members of the ADR team are Seung-jin Han (Law School), Mimi Ahn (GSIS), Ha-chang Sohn (Law School), Dong-woo Park (Law School). The team worked night and day for the competition, preparing 8 hours a day for two whole months. Furthermore, they sought out and consulted lawyers from big law firms, university professors, and other negotiation specialists. The team also spoke to each other in English during their daily life. After the contest, Harvard Law School students came over and offered congratulations. The judges also complimented the Yonsei Team’s innovative arguments and sharp logic. Yonsei Law School students are gaining international recognition by participating in international competitions and are preparing for the global legal world.
