2009 Yonsei Spring Festival 2009 Yonsei Daedongje (spring festival) was a 'festival of sharing.' From May 13 to 15, students and local people enjoyed the festival in various venue on campus. As University President Kim Han-Joong declared in his 'warm promise' earlier this year, some of the festival programs were planned to promote a spirit of 'Yonseian with warm heart' The highlight of the programs was ‘A Hottest Story of Yonsei Sharing' on May 13. Students from volunteering society sold breads and cookies made by people in Gangseo District Self-help Center of Yonsei University to Yonsei students and visitors. The proceeds from the event were donated to support elders living alone and North Korean refugees. "Na.Cheon.Sa" standing for "People Practicing Sharing" held an event which gave people stamps when they write messages for leukemia patients. "Yon.Eo.Al" or "Real Yonseians who help neighbors in need in the name of Yonsei" helped elders living near campus. There were also a 'Green Program' which encouraged people to charge batteries of their mobile phones by 'Bicycle Generators.' Other events included "Global Food Court," where people could taste a wide variety of foods from around the globe. An open broadcasting at Cheongsongdae (the campus park) by YBS(Yonsei Broadcasting System) were held during the festival. On May 15, ‘AKARAKA Toward the World', the highlight of the festival, was held at the open-air Amphitheater.
